News From Our Team

    • February was Children’s Dental Health Month. Dr. Arnold visited Montessori of Valparaiso to give dental presentations for the preschool and kindergarten classes. The kids greeted Dr. Arnold enthusiastically, had great questions, and were thrilled with their new toothbrushes, flossers, toothpaste, stickers, and sand timers.

    • Our wonderful hygienist, Kinlynn visited a preschool class in Chesterton to educate kids about dental health last week. Kinlynn’s outgoing personality and sense of humor won the kids over, and everyone had a great time.

    • In 2011, our talented dental hygienist, Amanda gave birth to her first child, and both she and Logan are doing quite well.

    • Dr. Arnold’s dental assistant, Becki, bought her first home this year. She has been busy settling in and is thrilled to be a homeowner.

    • Lacey joined our team in 2011 as Dr. Wargo’s main dental assistant. She has been a fantastic new addition to the team, and she has already begun building great relationships with our family of patients.

    • Shelly joined our Valparaiso dental team in 2011, and has really improved everything in the office with her great attitude, excellent customer service skills, and tremendous work ethic. We all feel very fortunate to have her working with Smiles by Arnold & Associates.

    • In January, Dr. Wargo, Becki, and Lacey attended a fantastic denture course to further refine their skills. Additionally, they are fabricating a lot of cosmetic dentures that connect to dental implants, thus creating even greater strength and stability.

    • In February, Dr. Arnold attended an elite Triathlon Camp in Death Valley, California. It was one of the most challenging weeks of training that he has ever been put in, but he came back feeling confident about competing in multiple triathlons this summer, including his first FULL Ironman in September.

    • Amanda loves to run and is currently preparing to compete in some fun road races this summer.

    • Three of our Valpo dental hygienists, Kim, Kinlynn, and Nicole, are members of the Northwest Indiana Hygiene Study Club. They attend quarterly meetings where they are able to share great ideas, techniques, and products with other Northwest Indiana dental hygienists. We are very proud of their commitment to their profession and to our patients.

    • Brandy has worked with our Chesterton dental practice for 11 years, and she has been instrumental in helping us to develop excellent systems for caring for our patients. Recently, she attended a challenging course on administering local anesthetic. This additional skill makes her one of the only dental hygienists in Indiana who is licensed to give dental injections. With her gentle touch and caring nature, this is a huge benefit for our dental patients in Chesterton.

    • Kinlynn, who works full-time as a hygienist in our Valparaiso dental practice, has also earned her certification to give local anesthetic. She has always been committed to and passionate about increasing her knowledge to better serve our dental patients. Her enthusiasm for her work is infectious, and her sense of humor makes her a joy to work with.
